Well today I learned my fate as far as my little accident from Monday. (if you aren't sure what I am talking about just go to my last blog and you will have it all figured out ) About a quarter after two today my superviser told me that I was supposed to go meet with my union griever in the conference room, so I figured it was time for the punishment, whatever that might be, and it was.
The two men that are filling the void that is our general foreman came in and brough the paperwork for me. I read it over and it was talking about investigation and whatnot and that was all well and good but I had been hoping it wouldn't have to come to that. Then one of em pointed out the third paragraph and how it said that I could go through alternative handling, to which my grever quickly agreed.
Alternative handlng is apperntly a way to deal with it all that doesn't result in a record suspension or any kind of probation. What I was given was a project, a project that should have been put into place a while back actually. A project that I had heard whispers of before and thought it would be a good idea. I was given 90 days toget together with the house welder to devise a plan of sorts to keep what happened wth me from, hopefully, happening again. The way the locomotive went off the tracks for me has happened before and we have been lucky to not have injuries and so if I can help devise something to help this from happening again and thusly avoiding possible injuries, well that I can get behind. Basically my punishment is a learning process for me that will actually improve things for others, that's a punishment I can feel good about.
Tomorrow is Mom's birthday and dad and her are going to Billings for some things, so my days off I get a nice empty house, win win for everyone. We went ot for supper tonight and then some Dairy Queen afterwards, so that was nice, and needless to say maybe I will get off my ass and get back on my diet tomorrow.
I had thought I was going to have to work 9 straight days before I had a day off, but the guy that got the job I was floating on deided to not have it take effect until Sunday, and I in turn decided to work my rest days next week so I wouldn't lose any days on the paycheck. SO I was surprised to find I had tomorrow and Saturday off, pleasently so.
It was good to get them as the Doctor Who Specials, Star Trek, and Night at the Museum II all on Bluray were waiting for me when I got home, and I got a pile of comics to read, and the usual writing to do, should be able to keep myself a little busy, right?
