I did it, all very nicely politely and in an adult manner. Yeah, I know I shouldn't have, but alas, I need a reference. My plan is now in action, for good or ill. So I best stick to it. I do like the looks on everyone's face when I say that I've just quit, they look at me and say, 'Oh, so you've found another job then?' I then get to smile broadly and say, 'Oh no.'
Other stuff happened, my second hard drive decided to go a bit fucking weird, which is where I store all of my music, videos and photos, it decided to completely corrupt one specific folder - My bloody music one at that, so I lost about 6 Gigs of music. , I lost nearly all of my videos too, I didn't have the space to be able to save them, so farewell Farscape seasons 2 and 3, Peep show, The tick and Earthworm Jim. I did manage to rescue The first series of Rome though, of which more later... My photos escaped relatively unscathed though, just a few gone, which is good; I found myself more worried about them more than anything else, I don't have a huge collection of pictures, but what I do have mean a lot to me. So it's not too bad. I have managed to replace some of my music, although the thing I have now is that I can't quite remember what I had before, it'll be a lengthy process to get that back up and running.
But yes, I succumbed and watched the first 4 episodes of day 6 of 24. Brilliant. Had me pissing myself from pretty much the first minute, which may not be the intended result, but the exploits of that cheeky Jack Bauer are far more funny than they give credit for. But, I watched the first episode of the new season of Rome too. If no one has seen Rome before, watch it, that's not a request. It's perhaps the best TV I've ever seen, and the two main characters make Jack Bauer look like Delia Smith.
Something else has happened recently, and I wish I could say some stuff about it here. I don't like feeling gagged, and this is about the only place I feel comfortable to speak my mind. But well, what're you gonna do? Let's just say that it makes the suspicious and cynical bastard in me rub my chin and go Hmmmm...

1GB of memory failed on my work computer. I didn't realise how expensive that stuff is now... it's gone up in price so much it's going to cost more than a hundred quid to replace!
You should try Battlestar Galactica. Hell, sounds geeky, but anyone who's seen it will testify - if you like Lost or 24, it's the next step!
