So some fucker infected me again. Nose running like a tap, sneezing every 5 minutes, coughing wheezing. It's enough to drive you to distraction What's even more annoying is that I can't take any time off work at the moment, because I'm the only person within 100 miles doing the job, and I'm on a very tight schedule. Oh well, it'll be over soon.
I've been hearing bad things about V for Vendetta. Which dissapoints me, I love the book and I'd really like to see it, but I do realise how the book was written whilst under the tyranny of the Thatcher government. So by that very basis, the story's quite dated, in the same way that listening to the Dead Kennedys (whilst very good) is quite dated because the political climate has changed. I guess I'll just wait until the DVD comes out.
But things look up tomorrow. It's pay day! Unfortunately, due to loans, rent and just attempting to stay warm and alive, most of it'll be gone by tomorrow night. I hate money. Is there any way we could just go back to a barter economy? I'd quite like that.
I did manage to see some old friends on Saturday night.. they've moved out of town into the smallest village they could find and so headed back into the big smoke for beer. It was mildly uncomfortable though to have my mate's girlfriend stroking my arm remarking on it's girth whilst I was in mid conversation with him. Then one of their mates looked at my arm, exclaimed that it was the size of his leg and tried to wander off in search of someone I could fight. So it was good to see them, but it'll also be quite good not to see them for a while too.
I think that with this cold type affair, oxygen deprivation's taking it's toll on me. I was like some form of loon today. Dribbling snot, laughing maniacally from the top shelves of a DIY store, dispensing useless information at gob smacked pensioners and generally making a nuisance of myself. Well, it was either the cold or I really need to get away from here for a while.
Oh, blah blah blah blah.
I'm sure one day soon I'll actually have something worthwile to write about here. Until then it's just vacant banalities.
I'm going to watch NIN: And all that could have been.
