This has been a trying day.
First day back after christmas and stuff. that sucked. But, work is about to go into the period I quite like. At the beginning of every year, the paint companies have this massive rush to put out all the new colours in time for Easter. So as of the middle of this month, I have a crazy time going out to loads of places and refitting the paint area in DIY stores.
But, I hear you say, that sounds quite dull.
And there'd you be right. It's generally about 12-14 hours of moving tins of paint which tend to get heavy after a while, then getting exasperated at the ineptitude of the idiots that work in these places. But on the plus side, I get to travel round the country, and live off the company credit card. They've asked me to work at the ideal homes exhibition in Earl's Court. That is a big plus. I get to spend a week living in Kensington, just arsing around at a show, and being able to hang out with my friends in London. Of whom I feel rather guilty at having not seen them for so long.
I also finally got rid of the last place I lived. I saw the landlord today, who incidentally absolutely raped me out of a fair chunk of my security deposit. and I never have to go in that dingy hole ever again in my life. So, it was a small price to pay to be able to shut that door for the final time.
New year was a quiet one. I felt obliged to go round to a friend's house to have some form of get together. Which turned out to be a very sober game of Disney edition trivial pursuit. If it wasn't for the couple of phone calls I recieved, I would have probably killed myself!
But good riddance to 2005, that has been one of my least favourite years to date. But between you and me, I've got a good feeling about this one. After all, I don't think it can get much worse.
Happy new year everyone. I hope this year brings you all that you may want.
