Zombie Apocalypse / Send More Paramedics - "Tales Told By Dead Men" split CD
The ZA side is good. Since their last release, "This is a Spark of Life", they have added more metal elements. This is neither bad nor good, just a slightly different sound. They still kept the speed and the attitude, so I'm still pleased. The first 5 tracks are ZA's, and the first 4 I dig completely. The 5th track, the title track "Tale Told by a Dead Man", I just can't get in to. My only complaint is that it's such a short group of songs, as was the case with "This is a Spark of Life". It's less a complaint, and more a cry for more from these guys. I still anxiously await a proper full length.
I don't know much about Send More Paramedics and I've heard nothing of theirs prior to this release, so it's all new to me. At first listen I was a bit skeptical...It sounded all too typical. After a few listens, I can't say it's not typical, but it's not nearly as bad as I had thought. It's fast and pissed, just as the ZA side is, but with a more metallic thrash element. The songs are much longer, but that in no way indicates a loss in energy.
All in all, it's a good release.
The other two discs I got, in case you didn't see them linked in an earlier journal, are Blacklisted's "We're Unstoppable", which I probably won't bother with as it's just a rerelease of previous material, and Circle of Dead Children's "Zero Comfort Margin", which you might hear more about in a journal to follow.
The Shai Hulud merch hasn't arrived yet, but I'm sure it'll be here in the coming hours.
Dinner last night was awesome. I, along with the help of my step brother, made Beer-Battered Halibut. It was awesome, so very good. Then we played Hands and Feet, some game my step brother plays with his friends...It was fun.
Now I need to get up and shower, go to the school and talk to them, go tag my step brother's parking space, and then head out to the girl's for dinner and whatever we're gonna do tonight.
I'm out.
Especially when little kids are bitching.
Dont hide it, you sing his jams in the shower just like the rest of em
