Figured I'd update while waiting for the gesso to dry so I can start my painting. It's been a long weekend...And this week's probably going to be pretty long as well. I'm not finding it as hard to motivate myself as I was in the beginning of the term. This is a good sign.
Got into a long conversation with Kyle about perceptions of reality and how there is no "real" reality there's just individual realities, and it's hard to discern who's actually crazy versus someone (like Einstein or daVinci for example) who's just thinking ahead of their time. Lasted about an hour, then ended with some "naptime." What can I say? Intellectual conversations turn me on.
My Halloween was fantastic. Went to the costume party, the "whorish-nun" was a big hit...there was even a guy there dressed as a pregnant nun, (we hit it off pretty well
), and there seemed to be a bit of a religious theme going on with everyone's costumes...lots of devils and angels. The band was pretty cool...It was their first show together, so there were some rough spots, but all the songs were original and the lead singer/guitarist is a good friend of mine. I have to say his costume was the coolest...He shaved his head in an effort to paint it all white so he could be a skeleton. Turned out pretty wicked.
The best part of the party, though...This is good, so pay attention.
I'm standing there in my nunnish outfit watching the band play with Kyle sitting in a chair next to me. This girl (the girlfriend of the pregnant nun) in an army suit comes up and puts her hands on my waist like she's trying to see around me to see the band (there was a pole in the way). So then, after she apparently decided that she couldn't see she puts her hand on my ass and then gives it a *SMACK*!
I turned, looked at her, she immediately puts her hand over her mouth...
"Oh my God! I'm so sorry! I thought you were my boyfriend 'cause of your nun costume!"
I started laughing soooo hard, her boyfriend saw the whole thing, and he was very amused...as were all the people standing behind us. Hehehe....I'm still laughing about it. The rest of the night, I told the story over again to other people how had missed out, and I didn't let her live it down. Neither did her boyfriend. She took it well though, and she laughed just as hard as the rest of us.
Anyway, I'm gonna go start my painting now...Wish me luck!
Much love,
T.C.
