I'm done house sitting for my friends and sitting their dog. So I am back now
It was kind of aweful though, last night he took a big poo on the carpet and I had to spend like 3 hours cleaning it up, and it's not even totally cleaned up, but they said it was okay, I feel bad though. Why is it, that when there is tons of hardwood and stone floor, the dog wants to poop on the carpet? does it remind them of grass? I wouldn't think so, if a dogs sense of smell is as good as it's rumored to be, you'd think he could smell that carpet and grass aren't the same thing.
Lets see what else? paid off another bill yesterday, one more to go (except for credit card)!
Oh yeah and a couple people asked me about the sushi rice and how I made it, so I thought I would go ahead and post the recipe here.
Rice:
10 oz rice (1 1/3 Cups)
11 oz water (Almost 1 1/2 Cups)
Piece of Kombu
Brine:
4 T vinegar
2 T sugar
1/2 t salt
1 T Mirin
for the brine:
1. Put all of these in a small sauce pan over low-medium heat until everything dissolves.
2. Cool completely. (you want to do this early, not at the last minutes after the rice is done, it keeps forever so it's okay)
for the rice:
1. cut some strips into the kombu with scissors. (kombu is a type of seaweed, you can get it at an asian grocery store)
2. add the water, rice, and kombu to a small pan.
3. bring to a boil over medium heat, turn to high heat and let boil for 5 minutes. then transfer to a 350 degree oven, for about 15-20 minutes until all the water is absorbed.
4. Discard the kombu and cool completely. (on the counter, not hte fridge, you shouldn't refrigerate sushi rice, the brine will make it keep for a couple days on the counter)
5. Pour the cool brine over the rice, and stir to coat the rice with the brine, and you are ready to go!
I'm breaking one of the rules of sushi posting that.
sushi chef's in japan do not reveal their recipes, they're highly guarded secret recipes.
I've now inducted you into the secret club. official handshakes and badges will be coming soon.
remember if you tell anyone, I'll have to kill you, actually I may induct someone to take care of that for me, we'll see though.
And I just bought an SG Hoodie today, so I'll be able to wear it, and new people will have something to look for, that and I have an SG Hoodie!

My poodle once expressed her discontent by pooping on the sofa.
Cats not only lack the decency to feel bad about it, they refuse to even accept responsibility for their actions! My cat blames either the other cats or me. My one and ONLY cat....
