Just watched "In the Bedroom"... freaky movie, but strangely not as disturbing as everyone had told me. Although it was like watching two movies, just because of the dramatic switch in the middle... won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it. Hah, wait, no-one will see this : )
I need friends who find things fascinating and inspiring, and want to talk about them. Seems like I'm missing that these days. It's strange because I have friends who find things fascinating and inspiring, but we never talk about them. I wonder if it's all because of the setting. Possibly because some places and situations are conducive to those type of exchanges and others are not. It happened all the time when I was in college, but I definitely don't think it was about the academic atmosphere... more just lots of bored, at least moderately intelligent and creative people crammed into a small area. Hrm. I was in an artist co-op after I got out of school and it was the same way. Maybe I should just join an artists' co-op again. Then I could have studio space again too. Painting is now difficult with the 1BR apt. in SF. At least if I want to use oils... maybe I'll just start fingerpainting with pudding again... that was a hell of a lot more fun anyway... and you get to eat your paint without ending up like van gogh : )
Hrm... will have to look into it. Need to find out if there are any good figure drawing sessions anyway, which shouldn't be a problem with the Academy of Art owning half the freaking town : )
So I had a dream last night that I had a whole group of friends who were 4 inch paper dolls. I became best friends with this one, and then this guy sat on him. How fucked up is that. He just broke into a bunch of pieces. And I remember thinking, "Hmmm... well I guess that's what happens when you make paper friends"
yeah.
