So, since I'm home for the holiday, I hung out with a bunch of friends from high school. Mainly girls. And we got into this in depth 4 hour long conversation on the degredation of todays youth. No more men holding doors for women, no more "yes ma'am, no sir" all that good stuff. It's sad. I make it a point to unlock and open car doors for women who are riding with me, I hold doors for them, I say ma'am/sir to pretty much anyone, even if they are obviously younger than me. Waitresses, maybe 18, I say "Yes ma'am" and "thank you" when they refill my glasses, bring plates. Why is chivalry so hard to find it todays society? Why do people not expect it from me just because I have long hair and piercings?

Mostly, its because the human race are a bunch of douche bags. Sheer douche baggery runs amok inour society and very few people are willing to go the extra step to be nice to a total stranger. Common courtesy. Not so common anymore...

I'm not as courtious as all that, but I do try to be nice and I agree people in general are just getting nastier and nastier. This country is headed down the shitter on more than just the political front.
