Top five albums that most vividly evoke a specific time in my life:
Janet Jackson - janet. - Summer 1993 I just lived with this record. I have owned this album 4 times over two different formats.
Pearl Jam - Vs. - Late 1993 and nearly all of 1994. This is the only thing powerful enough to get me to stop obsessing over janet. I got this for Christmas in 1993 and didn't stop listening to it at least daily until late April early May of 1994.
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine - Over one weekend in early 1990 I was introduced to Nine Inch Nails, They Might Be Giants, Dread Zepplin, Digital Underground, and saw A Clockwork Orange for the first time. I latched onto Nine Inch Nails for it was the most unique of the batch and have boarded on obsession ever since. I found David Bowie through Trent Reznor and Marilyn Manson is still dining at the kids table in my version of the truth.
Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape - Okay, this came out in 1997 and I bought it proptly and listened to it often but in late 2003 early 2004 I latched onto this album for dear life.
Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night - I am one of those horrible people that ignored KOL until I heard Sex on Fire. There I said it. Happy? The wife was instantly smitten. I took some time but fell just as hard. This is the soundtrack to me finally getting my shit together and deciding I could do this whole adult thing.
