my drug, my addiction
1. What type of food do you most like to eat?
What passes for Chinese in Tulsa.
2. What type of food do you most like to cook?
Anything but soup. I love to do sweets. My special has become Deviled Eggs. I know it is my special because my in-laws won't let me bring anything else to a pot-luck and I have found myself becoming highly critical of others attempts of this wonderful starter.
3. What ingredient could you not live without?
Bar B Cue sauce must be up to par or it ruins the whole meal. I hate Kraft's versions. I think they may be in league with Satan to ruin meat dishes the world over.
4. What do you never let in your kitchen?
Kraft Bar B Cue sauce.
5. What is your favorite drink?
Dr Pepper
the petting
1. Do you have any pets* right now? If so, what are they?
Yes. One dog and one cat.
2. Why do you have pets? Or why not? Or why do you have the pets you do, and not some other kind of pet?
I kind of feel like we saved them both. A friend of mine was going to turn in his cat to the pound. He said he was just tired of taking care of him. I asked if I could have him. He stayed with my then girlfriend until she became my wife. She brought him and her own cat. On New Year's Eve 2006 her cat died at age 18. The following June we were visiting Petco and saw a half Pug half Bulldog that was up for adoption. We talked it over and took him home. We aren't sure how old he is. He came without a back story and he is either 7 or 10 years old. We joke that we are his retirement home. 7 or 10 he knows his name and won't answer to anything else.
3. You have fallen into an alternate universe where you are required by law to get a new pet. From the animals that are commonly kept as pets (cats, dogs, gerbils, pigs, sugar gliders, etc.), what would you choose, and why?
I would get another cat. They are more self reliant and have their own agenda. A little dark.
4. You have fallen into an alternate universe where you are required by law to get a new pet. From the animals that are *not* commonly kept as pets (dolphins, elephants, unicorns, etc.), what would you choose, and why?
I would get a dragon. Walks in the park would be interesting. I would never need a security system.
5. You're being reincarnated as a pet, and you get to choose which kind. From the animals that are commonly kept as pets, what do you choose, and why?
I would be a dog. I envy Rufus from time to time. Guy is taken outside 3 times a day to run about and sniff around and relieve himself. Someone else literally cleans up his shit. He gets to play fetch daily. He gets treats after outside trips and sometimes just because. But then again, I still have my balls.
