Last night was pretty cool.
I was sitting at my computer, when suddenly I heard some TV show come on. I flipped to EyeTV 2 to see what was on.
It had just started recording because the Suicide Girls episode of CBS TV crime series CSI: NY had just come on.
Here is the plot summary:
A young punk rocker is found beaten to death in a Queens alley just a few blocks from where she recently finished performing in a show with a group called the Suicide Girls. Over in Rucker Park, a basketball phenom is discovered dead on an outside court a day after he defeated a professional player in a one-on-one game that embarrassed the NBA star, known for his violent outbursts.
I used to be kind of bored by the NY version of the CSI series, but less than a year ago, I started to feel that the CSI: NY (see TV.com home page for series) had gotten really hip.
You can buy the Oedipus Hex episode eventually from the CBS store. Starting next week, you will probably be able to buy it. A better option would be to buy it for only $1.99 when it goes on sale at the iTunes Store.
If you want more details on this particular episode, go see the CSI: NY - Oedipus Hex page at TV.com. That site has so much information you will not believe it - about TV series, individual episodes, actors in the cast, and so on!
If you are really impatient, and reading this the week I posted it, you can watch the whole episode in streaming video at the CBS home page for CSI: NY. I think they only put those up for a week though, so you had better hurry.
If you want to go it, iTunes is probably the way to go. The resolution is pretty high, smoothless of the playback is really good, and if you have or eventually get a video-capable iPod - you can carry the SG with you.
What was really cool about this episode was that they actually had a lot of the Suicide Girls on it. They used their actual SG names and it sure as heck looked like the SGs themselves were playing themselves.
I really expected doubles to be playing the girls, and did not even really expect to see specific, actual SG screen names used. So I was pretty surprised. It was almost like the experience of watching a "cross-over" episode, where actors from one TV series play their usual roles as guests on another TV series episode.
Here is the official CBS home page for CSI: NY - Oedipus Hex episode, in case you still cannot get enough!
