It's been a long time since I've blogged I know, I hope this new year is treating everyone well so far! As I was thinking about what to say, I had the thought to just pick up where I left off in my previous blog. To just go through my phone and take you all down memory lane for the years I didn't sit down and actually blog 😅. So without further ado, enjoy my recap to get mostly caught up to the current year 📽🎬
The Holy Booble book shot by KatAttack Photography made it's Kickstarter goals and was published. I bought two copies and gave one to a friend of mine that always helped me out and gave great anime recommendations whenever I wanted to watch something different.
I saw Bad Omens for the first time in 2017. I originally came across their music while watching music videos on YouTube and their video for THE WORST IN ME kept popping up. I decided to check them out and was immediately hooked
After the show they were taking photos with fans so I grabbed a group shot and even got Noah to sign my Les Paul tattoo!
Attended Anime Weekend Atlanta and came across an awesome cosplayer dressed as Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul
Found out that HIM was disbanding and would have an Atlanta stop on their farewell tour, so I grabbed tickets and was able to get to the venue early enough to get a spot by the stage.
Saw Bush twice
Bad Omens again
Had the honor of a few more magazine publications with Myalternative, Sour, Xpressions, Jellybaby, Dominante, and Xzibit
Found out that Stabbing Westward was going on tour and jumped to go see them as I have loved them since high school. I even saw Christopher after the show and got him to sign my tattoo!
Went out of state for the first time for a concert and saw Bad Omens in South Carolina
Saw Lacuna coil for the first time! I went after work and missed the opening bands including Bad Omens, but I still had a great time.
At this point was 2020. In March my birthday present to myself was going to the Villain Arts Tattoo convention and also driving out of state for a second time to see Bad Omens for what would be my last concert before Covid was finally named a pandemic.
2021 rolls around and I took a social disanced trip to Ruby Falls, the tallest underground waterfall in the US
Over the years I also stretched/gauged my second lobe piercings to 1/2 in(13mm). My original goal was 2g but I decided to go a bit bigger and love them. There are times when I considered going slightly bigger but I like being able to wear the combination of plugs and dangle earrings. The dangle earrings in the photo were made by the lovely Lee and my plugs were made by Arwen's partner Mateo Way ♡
Got fully vaccinated and boosted
2022 rolls around and with it the 25th anniversary of one of my favorite movies, Fifth Element. A few theaters were showing it so I got to see it on the big screen for the first time ♡
Attended my first Braves game. I'm not big into sports but ownership changed on my job and they decided to have a team outing to a game to get to know everyone. We ended up not staying the whole game due to a rain delay. I did learn later on the Braves won.
I originally wanted Bad Omens to be the first band I saw once covid restrictions had been lifted to attend concerts and even had tickets to see them. Unfortunately, even though I arrived early I didn't get into the venue until after 9pm like many others. I assumed they weren't anticipating such a large turnout or just didn't have enough experienced staff at the venue but I read that the mayor wanted the show canceled which caused a massive delay. I was still waiting outside when I could hear bands playing. By the time I did get inside the last opening band was playing their final 3 songs before the headliner came on. I was a bit bummed but a few months later saw Bush at a venue I had never attended before and had a great time.
I did eventually get to see Bad Omens again for their headlining tour and they had 2 Atlanta tour dates. I couldn't make it to the first show but saw them on their second date ♡
I'll end this lengthy photo heavy blog with a few shots from my birthday celebrations this past week. I had ramen, went to a place in Buckhead that had vegan meatloaf, received flowers from a childhood friend, and watched the Demon Slayer movie. I've been rewatching Demon Slayer to refresh my memory on certain characters for the upcoming new season next month.
I hope everyone has enjoyed my recap! I will definitely make sure to blog more often 😊
Take care everyone ♡
