The month of May has gone by incredibly quick for me. It’s been pretty busy on my job with preparing for events, a holiday and graduation time. Normally we would be starting to slow down with orders but we are still semi busy. It should really slow down next month though as a lot of people go out of town for the summer and there aren't many companies that need to order from us. I've been slacking a lot on keeping active here, I know I’m missing a ton of amazing sets in member review that I need to check out and show love towards. I decided to connect my SG page with Instagram after reading @vorpal say that she would promote sets once they go into review on the hopefuls Instagram if we connected our pages. It is a lot easier to find people on Instagram that way, especially for woman crush Wednesday.
I have gotten out a little this month despite working so much. I went to the Masquerade to see one of my favorite bands, Trivium on the 13th. I had to work that day so I went to the show afterwards. I didn't miss anything as I got there right after the doors had opened. I did however miss getting my usual spot right by the stage so I just hung out in the back.
Everyone played great; there was even a local band that I was familiar with, Tetrarch, as I had briefly met their female guitar player years ago. Their bass player actually took the photo that I have of Nick and I, now former drummer of Trivium. I didn't get photos with anyone this time but I did get a few hugs from Corey.
A few weeks later my coworkers and I went out to dinner for restaurant week in Buckhead. A Lot of really expensive restaurants had special menus for $35 dollars, so you could have 3-5 course meals and not spend hundreds. We attended Del Friscos Grille, a very beautiful restaurant though limited dinner selections.
Prior to that, I had a shoot with Sobootyful for Zivity.
We shot three sets, and plan to shoot at least two more soon. One set has gone up but I’m eagerly waiting to see the other two sets as they looked amazing while viewing them from the back of her camera.
I would have attended a Memorial day bbq with my coworkers but I had to cancel at the last minute as my friend that works on heating/ac units messaged me letting me know that he would stop by to fix mine. I had been without air for 4 days, relying on a fan in my bedroom window to keep cool at night and during the day. Not so fun with mid-high temperatures in the 80s and 90s.
I originally had more that I wanted to say but after the power went out and I lost what I wrote, I kind of forgot half of what I typed. There are some photographers that I hope to shoot with soon but I’ll mainly just be focusing on working this summer, saving up for quite a few things.
Well hopefully I’ll have much more to blog about next time, I just wanted to write a quick blog before this month ended haha. I hope everyone is doing well!
