The month of April is almost over and for the most part it was pretty uneventful for me. I planned a few shoots but they fell through which was completely understandable as my usual photographer is in the process of unpacking from moving. I had another tattoo appointment on my Les Paul and added some color and highlights.
Not looking forward to finishing it as the last part of it will go across my ribs and onto my belly. I've been tattoo’ed on some uncomfortable places but the belly and rib area take the cake for me thus far. I wanted to go to Hell City this year but my plans to go fell through due to having to spend a lot of money towards my car, between repair work and insurance. I also have to find some replacement parts as I was struck by some refurbished tire debris (oh the joys of driving down I-285) and it knocked the hole cover on my front bumper off, plus I've lost yet another hub cap though I doubt I will get another one. I definitely plan to start putting money aside for Hell City next year. I contacted a few artists but they didn't respond or stopped responding to my inquiries, so my plans to start my ¾ sleeve are on hold. I have a few shoots planned once my tattoo finishes healing and they are with photographers that I haven’t worked with before so I’m excited. I mentioned in my last blog that I shot with a local photographer for a project that he is working on and I posted a few shots to my tumblr but here is a shot, hopefully I will see more soon. I shot with him while my first session of my Les Paul was still peeling, I always seem to have a heeling tattoo when I'm trying to plan shoots lately haha.
The weather is still up and down here. It's a lot warmer now and thankfully I don't have pollen allergies, so I've been enjoying the lovely temperatures. Eventually I'd like to plan a trip to Florida but I'm not sure when. June is a pretty slow month at work but I'll probably just work to keep saving.
I've been wanting to participate in the homework assignments that @missy and @rambo have created to help SG’s blog more. For a while I wasn't sure if it was an SG only thing as I didn't see the topics being posted in either of the hopefuls groups so I didn't join in. I've since seen several hopefuls taking part so I figured it would be OK. So this will be my make-up work as I will try to post all of the assignments that have gone up. My apologies if I miss one.
~My favorite body part~
It took a while to decide on a favorite part as there are a lot of parts that I love about myself but I think my number one would be my lips. One of the first testimonials that I received years ago came from the lovely @carmelita where she called them "juicy kiss makers". It made my day to receive such a lovely comment from one of my favorite SG's and hopefully someday I'll be able to meet her and get a smooch!
~What inspired me to become a Suicide Girl~
I always wanted to give modeling a try but knew that I didn't want to do anything traditional because of my love/desire to get tattoos. Back in the Myspace days, a friend of mine reposted a bulletin that SG made and when I checked it out I knew that I wanted to be apart of the community. A few years later I got a membership and never before have I felt so at home! I'm constantly in awe of how many like minded SG's, hopefuls and members there are. There is always someone that feels the way that I do, has experienced similar things as I have or we just share a lot of common interests. I feel like I belong here and hope to someday become a Suicide Girl to help represent Georgia.
~Teaching something interesting~
I thought about this one for a long time and what I could teach. The only thing that I could think of was how I do sumo and hinge squats when I work out. I don't have any videos but I hope you don't mind me posting the lovely Masuimi Max demonstrating how to do them.
~Favorite Set~
Words can not describe how much I love the set that @alissa shot of me. Working with her was an absolute dream and as she said while we were shooting, it was like we were in each others heads. She captured me perfectly and I love every single shot, I freakin' love her! I'm so excited for you all to see "For me this is heaven" when it goes into member review July 9th. I got to meet and have dinner with some amazing and gorgeous ladies, hopefully more hangouts will happen.
~Confess something~
Another topic where I wasn't sure what to say and thought about it for a while. The only thing that popped up would be my love for green eyes. Hands down green is my favorite eye color that makes me weak in the knees. The tattoo that I have on my left foot is a unique spin dedicated to my love of them. There is just something so beautiful and enchanting about them.
~How SG has changed my life~
In my years of being on the site I have met some great people whom I call dear friends and I often find myself being inspired. I've learned a lot from blogs and groups, been compelled to try to get out more and experience new things and I travel more. Nothing makes me happier than to be apart of a site that makes me feel like I fit in, that I belong and that there are lots of people who go against the grain of societies views.
~My first tattoo~
My first tattoo would be my cookies n' creme cupcake with chocolate shavings and an oreo on top that's on my lady parts. A very sensitive area for a first tattoo I know but I love how it turned out. I got it for my love of baking and eating sweets. The location is more of a fun surprise for those who see it, plus dirty jokes ensue haha.
~10 facts~
1. I started listening to rock/alternative/metal when I was 12 and haven’t turned back. I listen to all genres but those will always be my favorites.
2. I have tan colored birthmarks on my belly, legs arms and boobs.
3. Growing up I used to put ketchup and mustard on almost everything I ate.
4. I love going to Japanese restaurants and ordering the special rolls.
5. I’m addicted to marinara sauce and if I eat something with it, it’s usually drowned in it.
6. I tried to dye my hair red in the 8th grade but it just turned brown because I didn't want to bleach it and damage my hair. For a while I wore Punky color hair spray in my hair in hot pink.
7. I sleep at the foot of my bed because it feels less lonely, also my PS3 is right there.
8. I dream in color, if I've felt a sensation in real life I feel it in my dreams, my dreams are always incredibly weird. For a brief while I had a dream diary for a class assignment.
9. I’m an extremely quiet person and people often get the wrong impression of me or assume I feel one way when I don’t. It can be hard for me to think of things to say to people. Most people know me for talking when its important and I've been compared to Silent Bob.
10. I'm 100% Georgian, born and raised. I've never lived in any other state. I've only just recently started to learn my way around Atlanta though, I had always avoided it because of the traffic, streets with the same name and one way streets.
~Favorite place I've traveled to~
Another hands down answer for me. Out of all the places that I've traveled to my favorite would be the last family vacation that I went on to Paradise Island, Bahamas (before it got really famous) when I was about 13 or so. I felt at peace, relaxed and realized that I feel the most at home when I'm surrounded by water or trees. I tried to find the pictures that I took but could only find my proofs sheet.
~Something I'm thankful for~
I am incredibly thankful for the job that I have. I work in my field, I love the drive even though I get stuck in rush hour from time to time, and my coworkers are amazing. Like with SG, I'm surrounded with people who have similar interests and we often chat about video games, anime, movies and our musical tastes. I know eventually everyone will move on to different things but I cherish my moments working there.
~Pets~
This little guy, who is currently sitting in my chair with me is my first/only childhood "pet" Corki. I use quotes as I've never thought of him as a pet, he has always been my feathery ninja son. I say ninja because he is an excellent escape artist from both his cage and my bedroom if the door is left cracked and at stealing food. If my bedroom door is cracked, he will stand on the top of the door and shove his head against the frame until the door opens enough for him to fly out. Which he does so while laughing. I've had him for almost 19 years and he still acts like a troublesome toddler.
Well that's it from me for now. I hope everyone has been doing well!
