Ouch. There are some pretty good deals on MP3 players these days. Ipod is the way I'd go, but I'm a MAC guy, so that's a no-brainer.... my wife got me a really nice MP3 player last year for christmas.
Honestly, knowing what it's like living out in the middle of nowhere, you'll probably have to get it from walmart, and last I checked they had some good sales.... maybe it was only for black friday tho... who knows.

That sucks. It might not be very expensive to get your computer fixed, if only the headphone jack is messed up.
But it might still take them awhile. I don't think I could part with my laptop for even a few days. LOL So maybe an MP3 player is a good idea anyway. It's easier to carry around. I love the iPod, and they aren't *that* expensive anymore - unless you want to store thousands of tunes on it - like me.
