So - a lesson in "the universe gives you what you want".

My old car was irritating me more and more, but I felt I needed to keep it going because I didn't think I could afford a new one and my credit was shot from a bankruptcy a few years ago.

My engine melted. The mechanics said they'd never seen anything like it - water was squirting out the spark plug holes. They couldn't believe it hadn't just burst into flames, imploded or something.

So, I go to the local credit union, heavy hearted, thinking "I'm screwed".

Well, it seems five years of paying the bills restore one's credit - who'da thunk it?

I like's me new (used) car. It's less than a decade old, which is definitely new for me.

So, universe, next in line for me is a woman, right?
