Been awhile since update. It's because there's nothing new to say. I've been off since the second. I don't have anything to do but play online, watch tv, and walk the dog. Honestly, I don't remember what we did when we were kids and we had all summer off. It's been like three weeks and I'm bored out of my mind! Plus, I don't want to go anywhere because gas is so expensive. It's like every minute I'm behind the wheel I'm thinking, "I could actually calculate what this minute of driving is costing me."

Drag show again this weekend. I'd really like to go, but I don't think there's anyone to go with. It'd be more fun if I wasn't going by myself. Maybe I can talk Frankie into going ... "No, sweetheart, I promise nothing will happen to you. Just hold my hand real tight." eeek

I've been really ticked off about all the time he's been away from home lately. The Commander's full of all this "hooah, hooah" bullshit about how we only have a few months left and we need to bond with our families before we have to be seperated again. And yet, he's filled their calendars with "field exercises" (meaning that they're working late, or not coming home at all), late nights, and after-hours mandatory briefings. It's just ridiculous. Last time we had one field exercise and one briefing in the six months before they left. This time it's just shit to do, nonstop. *shakes head*

Oh, since the boredom I've decided I'm going to start reading "classic" literature. By classic, I mean everything that was on that AP English reading list that I didn't read while taking AP English in high school. Just finished Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Really a great novel. Very enthralling. Now, if only I could remember how to write a good analytical essay ... then I would no longer be bored. (Yes, actually so bored that I would write essays for fun ... I always like writing them anyway though. Here's a nerdy fact about me: when we did timed essays in English class my senior year of high school ... I LIKED them!)

Not much to complain about though. Just bored.

I see soldier's girl is one of your favorite movies. I've been wanting to see it for a while but I can't find any place that has it where I live.

You are so lucky to be bored. It means your life isn't yet being sucked away by thousands of meaningless, tedious tasks that offer little reward but still have to be done. I often fantasize about having a large block of time and nothing to do. Boredom I think is an underrated stimulator of creativity.
