Well...I guess its a little past time for an update!
Work has been keeping me super busy the last few weeks! I've been picking up a lot of overtime shifts and some teaching. The 4th was a blast! I got to work as a bike-medic in the park the entire day, which basically consisted of riding around on a bicycle loaded down with medical equipment and looking at all the cute girls running around! My only complaints are that the weather was so damn humid (hey, I was born and raised here...not used to that shit!) and that I had a hard time telling if the cute girls were legal! I swear...you can look at a girl these days and they could be anywhere between 12 and 23! I don't remember girls looking like that when I was that age!
But I digress. While work has been mostly good...there was a brief period of stress last week when my partner got suspended. We were not sure if they were gonna fire him or not, and the reasons were pretty much bullshit so I was in a really bad mood for a couple days until everything got figured out. It really bothers me that there are so many people that I work with who are so petty and frightened that they won't even come to you if they have a problem. They'd rather just go straight to a captain.
I love my job...but the people are really starting to get to me! I've been having a few problems of my own as well...I got a little slap on the wrist for giving a medication that was not in our protocols without consulting a doctor. I guess they want us to think for ourselves...just not too much! So with all of the problems I've been having at work, I've decided to start getting ready for the MCATs and looking into going to med school. When I finished school in December I had intended to take up to five years off before going back to school...but the reality is that my mind is going absolutely crazy with not being chalenged on a daily basis.
In other news, I've kinda been dating a girl up in Greeley. I say kinda 'cause we've seen eachother twice in the last two months...it seems our schedules are rather hard to work together. It doesn't help that she can't drive, and with me in Boulder and her in Greeley...it certainly takes a bit more time! She seems like a nice girl, but I'm not holding my breath for anything special to happen, and I'm keeping my options open.
Also, I'm moving this weekend. I'm excited about the new place, it looks really nice, and I'm living with a friend who actually bought the house so that should eliminate some of the bullshit from renting! He's closing on the house today and we're spending all day tomorrow moving stuff in. If any of you want to help, I'm sure not gonna turn it down! Also, I bought a new bed...Now, I never thought I'd do this....and I certainly never thought I'd be happy/excited about it....but I spent almost $800 on this new bed!
But its a REALLY kewl bed!! Its also solid maple so it should last me the rest of my life. I'll try to put up pictures of it when I have a chance. I bought it from an unpainted furniture store in Boulder, so I have to stain it first, but its nice 'cause I can actually decide what color to use! Down side to moving is, I won't have internet until the 13th, so I'll probably be out of contact from Saturday afternoon until then. I'll be checking e-mail from work, but I can't do SG...although I may bring my laptop with me to work so I can...we'll see.
Not much else to report....life seems to be pretty rutine these days....not sure if that's a bad thing really.
I'm going to the new Pirates moving in Louisville tonight if anyone wants to join me!
