I always suspected Rita was secretly a bitch ready to go postal on the world. Why else would she have been a prominent figure on that childrens show Electric Company?

This week I was in the teachers lounge, exchanging bitch slaps with the copy machine, when a fellow teacher struck up a conversation with me. Since we are in Massachusetts, the issue of gay marriage is often in the forefront in our local news. She started talking about the recent decision in our senate not to ban gay marriage, then confessed to me that she was a Republican. Thats fine and everything, but then she elaborated and baffled me somewhat. Keep in mind, she is about my age.

HER: I am a Republican but I dont want the lawmakers in my bedroom or in my uterus.
ME: Hmmm well if I were you, Id have a talk with your uterus then: Bush is already trying to force his way in there. {I was pretty proud of my pun there but it went unnoticed}
HER: I voted for Bush.
ME: Did you?
HER: Yeah but not because hes a Republican. I think hes sexy.
ME: ????? You think hes sexy? Are you serious?
HER: Not so much the Bush now, but like when he was younger.
ME: It must have been the cocaine mustache. Ha ha ha
HER: I dont know, he had that dangerous look to him.

I had to stop pursuing the conversation right there. What I should have said was, You have confused dangerous with bewildered and stupid but I wasnt witty enough to come up with any comeback at the time. Hey, I voted for Governor Weld and he was a Republican, but it certainly wasnt because he bore a striking resemblance to Barbies Ken. Which reminds me. I watched a bit of the coverage on John Roberts this week, and is it me or does he appear to be the perfect candidate to play Damien in a new Omen movie? Bah hahahahaha! actually, not so funny.


Oh, ps: I am sick with a head cold. So I am chained to my apartment, along with a box of Puffs Plus and Zicam, this weekend. Yes, I blame you, JakeyPooh! Reheat the soup and send it on back! Eh, at least I get to watch Law and Order reruns tonight on USA.
