And just like that... it happens.
I've just done 2 gigs in 2 days, 1 on Friday with Licking Chocolate Jesus, the other last night with The October Country.
Friday was legendary. Never have we been so drunk and played so well and made such a spectacle. We had El Demento administering Chugs to all the band whilst we were playing, while Party Girl and Fil Chugged random members of the audience.
I puked twice on stage whilst playing (and without missing a beat, which I was proud of), and actually passed out, in a pool of my own vomit, for 1 entire song. Finally, the management pulled the plug on the show after 5 songs. Superfuzz broke 4 strings, I had to be revived and dragged off the stage, and all told we went through nearly 70 beers just between the band.
It was incredible. The club manager was pissed off big style. The stage was a wasteland for the headline band (Challenger), visiting from my favourite musical US city Chicago, who were really good. Superfuzz smashed up some of the ceiling of the venue with his guitar, and I left a sizeable puddle of puke in front of the drumkit, though most of it had soaked into my shirt when I was passed out on my back.
The funny thing is, Vinyl Stickons play the same venue in a months time, and it's the same line-up, so if the club manager never wants to see us again, he's gonna without knowing it
And next time, it's gonna be even better
The October Country gig was good, too. A different story, I was actually sober but it was good to play a show where we were the only band - no fucking around with set changes and we could play a long set, which for OC is the better thing, given the psychadelic nature of much of our live set.
The album continues to sell well, too, which is really cool. Plus, I didn't go home alone, for the first time in ages
So, a good weekend so far.
The October Country have a live radio session air tonight on BBC Radio Wales Adam Walton Show. We're gonna listen to it lounging around Goo's place I think. Time to relax finally.
