I'm getting these subcutaneous tumors yanked out of my abdomen in two days. While I'm not worried about the surgery (we might sing a different tune come Wednesday morning), I am concerned with how it'll directly affect my work.
The doctors have told me not to go back to the office for at least 10 days. Som'n about how too much time spent in a seated position drastically slows healing time to gut sutures and all that jazz. I told 'em I could last 5 days (add in the obligatory weekend and we're back up to 7) before I had to return.
So, I've been pulling weekends and no-less-than 10 hour days the past two weeks, trying to leave as little open-ended work as possible, to minimize the stress levels of my co-workers and other assorted minions.
Too bad my time spent off work will mostly be in a horizontal position, letting oxycodone work it's way through my system.
I have a feeling I'm going to become brutally intimate with the Interwebs, my vinyl, a few as-of-yet unfinished books, and the mother of 'em all, Netflix.
Mmm... tumors. Delicious.
