The most recent time I visited my friends, Ron and I got thoroughly inebriated off some really cheap rum. He figur'd the most sure-fire way of besting me in some 8-bit Nintendo Joust was if I was three sheets to the wind. I'd say that his plan worked well. Kid mopped the floor with my arse.

I clearly remember Ron crashing early that evening, as his wife was somewhat pouty. Being several months preggers, she could no longer join in our alcoholic misadventures. Not wanting to find himself sleeping on the livingroom floor beside me, my buddy made it a short evening in order to console and comfort the little lady. Me? I stayed up 'til the wee hours of the morning.

I eventually found myself bored with reading comics and pulp adventure novels. Head still swimming courtesy of Mr. Cruzan, I raided the small box of magnetic poetry that I had seen previously, resting atop their 'fridge. It was the "Romantic Kit" of magnetic poetry.

The OCD part of my brain spent a good while sorting through the single-word magnets, construing all manner of deliciously sordid combinations.

It wasn't until about two weeks ago, when I found my way back to Connecticut that I realized the two hadn't bothered to take my poetry offa the 'fridge. According to Ara, one night her mother was visiting and noticed the poetry. Gettin' all excited, she shuffled over to the refridgerator and begin to read aloud one of my poems. Realization struck her in mid-sentence. The look of joy was washed from her face and replaced with one of shock and horror. Ara informed me that while voiceless, her mother continued reading the poem: as made evident by her mouthing the remaining words.

Irregardless of the fact that they kept the poems intact, the two were quick to point out that it was Tengu who had conjured the actual wordstuffs.

Ara's mom can no longer look me in the eyes without blushing. Adorable.
