OK OK... so Everyone (ok maybe not EVERYone, but several people... at least 3) has been asking me to post a new blog. I suppose it HAS been a month, so FINE. If you're SOOOOo interested in what goes on in my little life... (I'm glad actually, but I need to feign indifference and near contempt otherwise I just come off as conceited).
I am currently recovering from strep throat. NO fun at all. My throat was SO swollen I had trouble eating & drinking, and especially talking. I kinda sounded a little like Kermit the Frog. Got it last Wendesday, went to the Dr. on saturday, got some good drugs (antibitoics, Keflex specifically) and spent the next 4 days on my couch, drinking lots of tea with honey, water, juice, etc. playing World of Warcraft and watching a bunch of movies on my new big screen HD LCDTV!! My dogs were also very happy to have me home for so many days in a row, lots of snuggle time on the couch. Since they are both the better part of 50 lbs each, it was a little crowded on the ol' couch. ANyway, I am back at work today (booooo) and not all that recovered, but hey - gotta work. So again, to review... Strep throat = no fun at all.
Bought my TV last week, mentioned that already. That was a BIG deal though because I typically buy a new TV like every 10 years. And I love this one - finally got that huge gargantuan monstrosity out of my living room (the old 51" projection TV from 1997). I actually paid less for the LCD tv than I did for that monster back in '97. Ah how technology flies (and empties our pockets). Anyway, I can hang this one on the wall, but for now I got an IKEA bookshelf thingy, turned it on its side, added legs to it, and made it into a media center. Clever, I know - I'm awesome.
I met the lovely "Cherrypinup" at the Pantry in LA last week - had a great conversation. Interesting young lady - lots to talk about.
Let's see, what else... jeez - my life must seem SOOO exciting right now...
OH! Super Bowl this Sunday - Go Colts! Honestly, I really just want to see Peyton Manning finally win, but I wouldn't be upset if the Bears won either. You have to understand though that the Super Bowl is like a holiday for me, and in a way it's almost a double edged sword because it means football is over until at least... September? I will miss it...
Speaking of Super Bowl Sunday, every year me and all my friends used to get together at one of our houses (often mine because I had the big screen!) and have a big get-together. Lots of food, beer (once we were legal) and general testosterone filled manliness. Started out as "guys only" in High School, but evolved to include our significant others as our lives progressed. We're talking over 15 years we've been doing this. Well, long story short, my last relationship caused a MAJOR rift in a few of those friendships and I have not spoken to some of those people, much less watched a football game with them, for the better part of 4 years. Well... I was invited to the party this year by one of the friends I DO still talk to, since he's hosting it he makes the rules. It ought to be interesting. I have been assured that everyone is cool with it - but we'll see. It's gonna probably be awkward... I'll be sure to update after the big game.
OK - so it's almost 10PM and I am STILL AT WORK! So I'm going home. Peace out for now...
(to borrow an idea from "Campbell" here on SG...those of you who know her will understand)
Waffles,

(I just like waffles more than pancakes at the moment...)
