Hi Everyone
First of all, let me say thank you to everyone who responded to my obsessive plea regarding my extra Tenacious D ticket. I was really trying to have the ticket used by SOMEone rather than to just go to waste. Plus - I didn't want to go myself, so I was a little... well, nearly frantic. So again, I thank all of you who were nice enough to respond, even though you couldn't go. I really appreciate it very much. I tried to write back to all of you who responded individually, but if I missed one of you, I apologize.
As for the show iteself... um... it only ROCKED! Well of course it did, I mean it was The mother f'in D, how could it NOT rock?! When I left, I looked down at my feet... were there socks? NO because they had been RAWKED off!!! It was a very fun show,, great music, lots of comedy and just generally great. I would have, of course, preferred to have been able to share the experience with someone, but hey - I had a great time anyway. As for the "extra" ticket... well nobody took it, so I gave it to some guy in line that was going to be sitting way up in the balcony - made his night I think.
So again, thanks to everyone. All of you were SO nice to someone who, for the most part, was a complete stranger - gives me a little more faith than I had that there are still some good people out there. Next time I have an extra ticket for something I'll try to give everyone more notice!!
OK - so the pics that follow REALLY really suck. They're from my phone. As a photographer I am ashamed of their quality but I was too busy rocking to bring my good camera...
This was how they opened the show, in a mock up of Kyle's apartment. The bluish blob on the couch is Jack & Kyle.
The D rocking on stage
The D rocking in HELL
Jables brings it down a notch
KG Plays the "spread eagle" guitar. In this picture you can't really see the guitar, but it resembles a woman's legs spread. red high heels in the air, each leg a guitar neck with frets and all.
