I have to apologize. I've been really busy lately and just haven't had the time to update. Hopefully things will be better this week.
The weekend was insane - a very productive Saturday. We have a small out door festival here in Ontario each year called Edgefest. It's mainly comprised of shitty commercial Canadian bands, but also tries to support our indie scene with a smaller second stage. Again shitty commercial "indie" bands. I took in a couple copies of our promo kit and tried to pass it off on various "industry people" with very little success.
Just when I was begging to give up, I stumbled across "Sloan" sitting in a recored signing tent. They were surrounded by people and it was really difficult to get their attention. Just as they were getting up from the table to leave, I began screaming for their lead guitarist (Jay Ferguson) to come over to me. Once I had his attention and our promo kit in his hand, I thanked him very much for taking the time to have a listen. Sloan have been working on their own record label lately, so I desperately wanted to have them hear our music.
It's probably sitting in a waste basket somewhere in their tour bus right now, but you just never know?
