So I wonder...as part of aging, and seeing what my generation (Generation X) has done (and subsequently not done), what are the things we should put on our to-do lists? We don't seem to be a generation of people particularly interested in changing things. We say we are, but we haven't. To me, because this is what I have in common with my generation, we are lost. We're going nowhere, and doing nothing. Racism is still rampant, no matter what anyone tells you otherwise...it is. Greed has been a fixture in our lives since the 80's, it's ruining every positive feature of our country's founding principles, and we have no idea how combat it. We live our lives, doing what we can to survive, and affecting no real change.
Now I realize this is a fairly pessimistic outlook and overview of my age group, but what can I say, I've lost faith in my fellow thirty-somethings...
So, I submit this as a clarion call to anyone who has read this rant to this point...
Please, respond in the comments and help me find a cause/fight/place of condemnation of the establishment to call my home. I need to feel accomplished again, and I prefer it to be something that matters on a global scale...
