Ok, I have a guilty pleasure. I do enjoy giving in to it too. I have been a fan of the Green Lantern since I was but a wee lad. So I have been buying and reading the works of Geoff Johns - rebirth on till the current Blackest Night. I love it, great writing and art. So now what would make me divulge something...

Ok, I promised myself I would never desire a fender. But, darn it all to heck, I love the EC strat (antigua). I played one yesterday for 5 hours, and I had so much fun with it.
Hit the gym for an hour, felt great, I wonder why I never hired a PT before, but it made it so much easier. Not like when I...

I had such an incredible week. I saw Roger Daltery open for Eric Clapton, Celebrated a friends birthday, and I did nothing but relax and played all of the guitars I have with me for an entire day yesterday (first time I did that in a very long time).
Keep telling myself to focus on those little things.

It seems my laptop was compromised when I left it at work. I was sent to the ER over the weekend. I will be spending the next few nights at a hospital.
The good news is, is it is not a tumor. The bad news is, a tumor would have been easier to deal with. All I know at this point is they are telling...

Sorry, the number you have dialed is imaginary. Please hang up, rotate the phone 90 degrees, and try again.
So, my applications are complete. Washington, Chicago, or Boston/Rhode Island. I feel somewhat free. So much so that I picked up my guitars. My fingers never felt so stiff, but it seems like my voice has developed further.
After awhile, cleaning through my closet filled with...

Hot DAMN! What a ineffable day. I started negotiations with a local for a 1957 Fender Strat. I am stretching a bit to add it to my investment collection (I'll admit this one is also a guilty pleasure, only thing missing would be a 52 telecaster or broadcaster).
I'm finally settling in to the fact that I have lost all control over my future. At...

I am now being constantly reminded. 17 days until acceptance/rejection letters get sent out, I need to settle down in a quite out of the way place....
It's done. My fellowship application is done, 17 pages, its done. There is one last SOP to turn in, and then my fate is cast to the wind. My research is going to be based in medical as opposed to my doctorate. Which is cool, especially since it might improve the quality of life for the patients at the other end.
On a silly note,...

I made the deadline for two of my applications. At least that is what the two universities in question have told me. Even though the supplemental material isn't even there yet. Normally this would be in the auto-reject pile, and will more than likely be there still. However, this means they are going to closely look at my application.
I still have a few days...
