well howdee dooody kids! we are baaaaaaaaaaaack from our vacation! actually we got back at 7:00 am Monday..but it took 24 hours of on and off again sleeping to get back to (somewhat) normal. damn redeye flights!
anyway....i must say that this vacation will go down as one of the best vacations i have ever had! thats right folks..you heard me. not always the easiest person to please..this vacation was exactly what i needed. and i think Marko feels the same! here are a few re-caps for ya....
we had our time in the cleanest city i have visited...portland. our first nights reservations got screwed up..so we ended up with a free stay at the double tree in an executive suite on the 15th floor. talk about pampering! we hung out at the white eagle brewery, and played hot dice with some kids (strangely enough from Philadelphia on vacation as well)..and took in the sights all around the city.
then it was off to Medford Or to visit with Markos bestest guy friend who i ended up likeing quite well (i had my reservations before we met) and his g/f was great too.
after a few days/cold nights in Medford we rented a car and hit a snow storm in Northern California on our way to the Oregon Coast. we had just enough time to see the end of the Redwood forest (and took a pee inside one of the trees) and then it was the scenic coast byway highway for a couple hundred miles back to Portland.
we we lucky enough to make a stay at the tututon lodge in Gold Beach, Or. this four star lodge usually caters to a very different clientel (think old rich people in bath robes)..but they were very lovely to us and we got spoiled rotten with their first class luxuries and frivolties.
after a stop at the largest sea lion caves on the oregon coast (and world they say) we made our way back to portland for another 48 hours of the city life.
like i said..this was definently one of the best vacations i have ever had..and nothing i can say here will ever give our trip true justice.
instead i'll post some of my favorite pictures and let you see for yourselves....
