fishtown fucked up.

riding the bus this morning and all i could hear was "joey i'm sorry...joey i'm sorry...joey don't hit me again, joey i'm sorry...joey i love you...joey i need help...joey i'm sorry...joey i'm sorry...joey i'm sorry.

joey (guessing from appearances) most likely has a drug problem as well as being abusive.

everyone on the bus was uncomfortable i think. or maybe it was just me. i wanted to pull her away from him and tell her to stop humiliating herself. i wanted to tell her to get help. i wanted to tell her alot of things. but i didn't. and i prolly woulda just got smacked by joey anyway.

fishtown is full of this. sometimes its funny. sometimes its just sad.

why do people stand for that shit anyway?! i wish other people could surf the chaos and stop being led around! mad ARRR!!! ARRR!!! ARRR!!!

Tough line to walk. Best thing to do in my experience is to be there for the person and try and lead them out. If you "interfere" they paint you as the bad guy and not the abuser. And the police are tied up in our right to be presumed innocent when the victim won't press charges and even though the police may know it is happening and want to do something . . .
It is a sad situation.
