money sorted, repayments deferred another month, my life is not yet over!
along a similar line [the line being that however big the fuckup, something good always comes along] i had been worrying about how i could afford a new wardrobe now i've dropped 3 dress sizes. and a new girl at work used to work for a fashion line who gave her tons of free clothing. she has too much and was planning on taking it to a charity store but hasn't gotten round to it, and it's all in my size! so she's invited me to go round any time and pick out whatever i want, how crazy is that?
was the magic: the gathering pre-release tournament yesterday in london for ravnica: city of guilds. i went but could only afford to booster draft so i did this and made enough money back selling the rares that i played for free! met a guy who edits a page in the guardian who is interested in getting me in on strip-writing if he can get rid of the current cartoon doonsbury or whatever it is. he tried before and there was too much public outcry but he apparently hates it. he also said i should get into voice acting but i don't know how i would do that plus i sound like a man.
there was also a guy i spoke to at the first kamigawa pre-release who has some awesome RPG-inspired midi-music, check it out if you're bored - clicky clicky! He wrote a track about a Magic card called Yavimaya Elder which is so geek it's cool! but sadly not on the site. denied, all ye Magic fans who utterly fail to populate my Friends list!
a MASSIVE thankyou must now go out to silverwolf who kindly provided my bathtime reading material for this week in the form of Perdido Street Station which so far is awesome! reminds me in some ways of William Gibson who obviously i adore beyond reason. not very far into it but already it's shaping up to be very much my kind of thing!
now i'm going to sit and think about Neil Gaiman for a bit.

I think I have a favor to ask you. That involves something in Manchester, on November 10th. In exchange I will be your best friend in the world, and give you a million dollars.*
*or something of equal or lesser value, given that I don't actually _have_ a million dollars.**
**By equal value, I mean something really cool, like ice cream, or a puppy.
Good lead on tge guardian comics page I think - have you seen the 'Perry Bible Fellowship' strip that started last week? It's most amusing.. Shrunk 3 sizes? Wow, Yey you, babe
