Leafletting today was on Chancery Lane. I got sunburn but was wearing a t-shirt rather than a vest top, so bad tan lines for me! Joy!
An interesting thing happened while I was accosting myriad strangers. I do the whole inane joy spiel when working i.e. address everyone personally and energetically, and it can get quite draining. It can be alleviated, however, by the appearance of someone particularly attractive! It's always a bit of a fuel boost having a bona fide excuse to approach someone attractive, however fleetingly. So this one guy was walking up, on the far side of two of his friends. This would mean that to offer the leaflet to him I would need to rudely reach across two other guys: not ideal, but in this case worth the slight faux pas. This guy was beautiful; kind, beautiful features and longish brown hair pushed back in an alice band, wearing a skinny fit white T over baggy blue jeans and a fine body. When you do a job this mundane, eye candy starts to take on a reverential tone! So I greeted him cheerfully and passed him a flier, which he took, smiling, and said
'Thank you - have a great day!'
Not so special, you might think - but he was the only person all day to acknowledge me with any real sincerity or understanding. He said it with such warmth, and I hadn't realised it was missing until that moment. But from that point I was dancing on sunshine, because a beautiful man had made me feel like a Real Person again instead of a paid function. What a difference real communication makes.

noir:
I saw my own name in a vouch thread in SGUK and was confused for an instant. And then I read that it used to be your name. So, I thought I'd come and say hello.

I've actually been pink since February. And I saw your name in the vouch thread in SGUK.
