i recently joined the southwark guild of libraries or whatever you call such an alliance. to celebrate i Borrowed some Books which was all tres exciting for me, it's been about 5 years since i've trusted myself not to go to court over such a venture. Anyway, i got out this fantastic book on insects, ostensibly to read more about bees. But as i read i was totally seduced by the phenomenal photography and tales of insects i had never heard of! i would love to scan some of the stuff in it but suspect copyright violation would play a role there so instead i have sourced some pictures off the net of my new 2nd favourite insects after bees.

that is a SNAKEFLY. i have never seen it before. it is amazing and its body is made of tiny armour. here is another one which is a less good picture but better colours with more gold on the armour:





and here is another cool thing, it is called a SCORPIONFLY! YES! i would like one to own.
