so, my entire weekend was a miss. It all began friday, and seemed to roll in reverse at a downhill pitch, where it finally came to rest sunday night, as I stood inside an empty venue; there was a heavy cloud of boredom and thwarted expectation about the place, as I overhear the barback state:"yeah, it looks to be one of those long, boring sunday nights with nothing for me to do; just the way I like it!" I look to my far right to find a dark, and empty stage. so I ask the barkeep why the show was cancelled, and as he is fetching me a PBR, he replies," the band could'nt get into the country, I know, I was really looking forward to seeing them too." so apparently, customs felt that the Subhumans might be some kind of threat to national security, or perhaps there were some issues with their papers; in any event, I would like to think politics played a roll in their being denyed entry; we surely dont need any rabblerousers running around spreading any unnesessary "negative" propaganda this close to an election... now I'm really kicking myself for not going to see the cramps friday, ah well Social D is thursday! and again, the night was'nt completely uneventful. I crossed paths with an aquaintence from the old skool, halcycon days; (see Zenith under fave artists in profile, who no longer works under that moniker, I've come to find out...) I seem to bump into him every 10 years, and he is always in top form; a very successfull player in the art and music game. this guy was the coolest.I recall wanting to be like him back in school;we went to the same high school and hung around the same small circle of social deviants and eccentric outcasts( see,punk-rock, or society rejects ) I digress, thats enough reminiscing. so anyway less than a week until halloween...muwah-ha-ha-ha-huh!
