i've gained 8 pounds back at the gym, but i have to assume some of it is muscle. my upper body is starting to feel a little stronger, and my legs are constantly sore. a good sign that they are getting stronger. gotta' push through that shit. unfortunately, i can feel every little ding my body has sustained over the years. maybe it's because i'm almost 40, and i weigh nearly 280 pounds. i'd like to get down to 240 and 20% body fat by my birthday in february. but i'd also like to find a good, full-time job. spit in one hand and wish in the other, and see which fills up first.

I've gained back about 15 pounds, which I blame on lack of self-control about what I eat. I believe that in order to succeed at losing weight you need to already feel good about yourself, not hoping to feel good AFTER losing the weight.
For me, it was a desire to look as good as I was feeling at the time due to my having a relationship with a much younger woman. I felt good, so I figured why shouldn't i also look good.
I hope you find your motivation in whatever ways work for you. Best of luck.
