So it looks like my wisest budgetary choice will be to leave Georgia on July 4th. This will allow me to amass $18,000 to cover one year of living expenses, a trip out to the area to scout various living locations, a 9 day sojourn through the southern states.
My adventure will begin by heading through Mongomery Alabama, stopping to sleep in New Orleans, driving to stay a night in Austin Texas, onward to Roswell New Mexico to stay in Albuquerque, from there to Las Vegas (maybe stay for a night), onward to Mammoth River City for a stay with a stop near death valley finally landing me in San Francisco/Santa Cruz the final day to unload my stuff. This trip will involve no less than two breweries a day (and one meadery) with three-four days extra to see the best sites and camp out once or twice.
I have also decided on my purchase of an AF-100 which I will probably get working on tomorrow plus a Panasonic GH-2 for stills and back-up HD video followed by 4 additional lenses for fisheye, super wide, wide-telephoto and normal/pancake. All budget planned for, all worries quelled.
I will be able to stick in the area for a full year without any work and still be able to survive although I believe this lands just around harvest time for my brother which will give me the opportunity to start making money working with him right off the bat.
Getting so close to having my website done I can get work through that as well and the upgrade to a double whammy HD camera set will have people nipping at my heels. Basically every type of shoot, photographic or video would be within my grasp come February. For now I just have to keep myself absolutely kosher for the next eight months and all will be provided for.
Thank you jeebus. The light at the end of the tunnel is not so far away.
