My body floated without a spine
Just a brain
a heart
two arms and
two legs nestled about a pile of
guts and blood and balls and
thin skin

I knew how to love
to shit to learn to
fuck to
speak
but hovered
never understanding
how to stand up
and be brave
to put those fists
brains, shit and words
to good use
balls swinging grand and
dumbfounded
in the breeze

slowly
but surely
fed by
thought and
love and drink and sex and
rage
the calcium spikes at the back of the brainstem
winds through heart
and buries itself
in the shit
nerves twisted around the testes
so all the love
the words, the morals
memories blood semen guts and bile
have something
to stand on
either a blessing or
a cancer
