when we were young
we'd never play
out in the street
we'd only run
where we felt safe

i am divided.
from this morning's trip into work where i slid more than i actually had control of the vehicle, and i pushed my way through the snow filled downtown streets of cowtown trying not to lose control.
when i got out of the car, i was shaking and shaking. when the future happens, i will be the first in line for a flying car, so i can get off these damn roads.
and i love winter, it is one of my favorite seasons, but i hate the snow ...
well ... i love the snow in the yards and on the porch and in the parks and on the mountains, but i hate the snow on the sidewalks and the roads.
seeing a poor fellow trudge his way down the main street near home, covered in snow on one side where he'd most likely fallen, and i felt sorry for him. not enough time to feel sorry as the car made funny noises on a street which hadn't been plowed at all.
but last night after i arrived home, i pushed through vinyasas and sat watching the boyfriend and his galaxies playing self, and i fell in love all over again.
sometimes being in the house with the one you love is more rewarding than being out where the rest of the world is, trying to make a name for themselves.
