Was talking to a dude today between classes outside the LRC building (he offered me a cigarette, I gently turned it down, and then he started making conversation) who wasn't all that bad looking. We started talking about music, he told me he was a devoted goth-head. Plus, he was all tattooed (his whole arm was inked, some pretty cool artwork but will probably look rusty in 10 years) and he had the black nails, etc.
Um yeah...a "devoted goth-head" who didn't know who My Dying Bride is or Black Tape for a Blue Girl (old-school goth that I kinda like) or even Rammestein. He seemed like a new-age punk. He seemed surprised that I knew more goth/hardcore bands than him, because I don't look like that kind of person (I dress fairly conservative to school/work...t-shirt & jeans/no body mods yet. or something along those lines). He had never heard of Type O Negative either...wtf?
It's fine if you're going to label yourself and dress the part...but geez, know the background. No one wants a poser (evil word, but it applies here) It's like Avril Lavine...however you spell her...calling herself "punk rock." It so doesn't fit her.
Or...you can be like me and say you don't belong anywhere. People like that rock because there's not too many of them who like everything and I've discovered that people who are more diverse/go outside their realms to try more new things are also more intelligent.

Time to hit the books. I don't want to study...I want to go shopping. Too bad shopping actually requires money. I can think of a million ways I want to spend my money...all sound fun. uugh.
