I think I need to go to our store manager today and explain to him I can't go on like this; working 37.5 hours a week and balancing 13 credit hours where I wake up at 5:30 in the morning for school when the night before I'd been up til about one. I'd like three days off during the week at least, or its probably the fact that the only option I have is to work til 11 (later sometimes when we have this new manager who is incredibly slow in counting the cash drawers, he takes forever and we're not out til 11:30-midnight sometimes. it drives me nuts) and the lack of sleep is not helping me. Many people can go without sleep and perform okay. When I've a 25 minute drive to school every morning in kind of heavy traffic, I really want (need?) to be awake and alert.
On the plus side, at least I'm making lots of money. If my next paycheck isn't well above $400, I'm buying a shotgun because I think payroll is cheating my ass lately too. I've been there for a year and a half and I've only gotten barely a .25 raise. $7.75 an hour...woo hoo. I can't wait to start nursing and rolling in $35/hr and actually be paid decently.

anyway i'd tell your manager that you either need to change your schedule or get paid more. if that doesn't fly then start looking for another job, and let them know it. then you'll get some leverage. the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
