Sorry for lack of postage this last week. Been really busy at home. This week I basically dug a grave for my cousin. Hes been dead since febuary and as it was his birthday on wednesday my aunty decided that we'd remember him by planting a tree and scattering his ashes underneath it. So thats what we did. My grandfather and me dug the hole in a lovely part of the farm, with a great view which I'm sure my cousin would appreciate. We chose a Scots pine for the tree. A body produces alot of ash.
Besides that I've been busy building a new shuttle pc which looks awesome. Off to my uncles tonight for some LAN action to test it out for real.
As well as digging a grave I've had to kill again. Not a human though, although there are some who deserve it. We've had a very ill sheep for a few weeks and we decided after much treatment with antibiotics and extra barley to put it down. Luckily my dad used to teach chemistry so we had some chloroform with which to put it to sleep. I hope it was dead though as we burnt it the next day.
Anyway to end on a positive note I've definitely got my lust for life back after splitting up with my last girlfiend [4 years down the line]. Can't wait to get back out in lancaster when I get back there in just over 3 weeks. Its gonna be a great autumn, winter and spring.
Speaking of which my PhD starts in october. Its entitled 'Nutrient Limitation at the treeline: a comparison of European and New Zealand Forests'. Which basically means I'm going to be climbing mountains looking for trees in most of northern europe and new zealand, which I will be flying to on the 9th of January. I'm going to be a boy of eternal sunshine, well summer at least, for the next three years. Will hopefully be very tanned as a result.
