Evening,
just had a crazy day, been learning to lay brick. Mostly underground though so its been rather interesting. Much better to be somewhere cool and damp than out in the scorching sun. Problems however began to arise when I realised that I'd got cement in my hair and forgotten about it until I fell asleep for half an hour tonight. Took a little bit of vigorous washing to unset it.
Then out of the hole for sometime tidying up a rocky outcrop where the family is going to inter someone who's no longer with us. Got to plant some Scots Pines later this week to make it a bit more resonant of the future use of the area. I like strimming though. The thrum of the engine and the tug of the harness round my shoulders and waist is really comforting for some reason. Plus I can put my headphones on underneath my ear defenders and strim to VAST or the new NIN album.
Guinea pigs are settling in well. Trying to persuade them to eat different vegetables than just carrots though, Turnip seems to be going down well, going to try beetroot tomorrow. Will put some more photos of the little beggars on at a later date. Been too busy during the daylight hours to get snapping though. Will have to make use of an evening soon as the nights are noticably drawing in. Dark at 8.30 tonight.
Good thing is that I'm off again soon, well away from the farm and into the city for some nights out. Don't know who I'm going to stay with yet as the house I used to live in now has new occupants so I won't be a welcome squatter.
Wow, Nude [VASTS most recent album] has some good tracks on it. Enjoying Turquoise alot. Damn me if Pitchshifter are a band I've overlooked too. Genius is a particularly good song I've been playing alot whilst driving about on my quadbike, really gets my engine going if you know what I mean....
Well only a month to go before I start my PhD for real. Got loads of tosh through in the form of paper work to fill in. Should get it sorted in the next few days. The main thing is that I know where I'm going to be living next year, just rescued a floor lamp from the scrap heap thats gonna clean up good and look really great against my childrens school desk and other oddments of furniture. Just need a papasan chair now and I'll habe almost all the bits and pieces I need to sort of my new pad.
Going to go and give LOST another try now. Not too sure its worth all the hype and excitement. Keep expecting Merry to get out some longbottom leaf, the stuff he's taking seems a bit stronger though.
