Why, after three years, in two different places, is it ninety-five FUCKING degrees in my apartment? Every year it's the same: despite air conditioning, or circulation of air, it gets just as hot if not hotter than it is outside. I thought central air would remedy this problem, but for some reason it went from cold air to a constant stream of tepid warm air during my trip to the lake. I took a beer out of the fridge this evening, & it was STEAMING in my hand. Like, really steaming, like some sci-fi prop. Felt amazing to drink, though, but still. Fucks with the head.
The lake trip wasn't bad. Things are looking VERY up as far as the family is concerned. My dad is like a different person now that he has something to motivate him. Mom is into her depressed summertime state of affairs, which lead to an interesting drive back where she, again, tried to amend history to make things seem more...well, not her fault, to be honest. Nothing i wish to discuss here, but y'all can ask. But i'll likely be back in the next few weeks, only to give them a decent two day visit. Then not see them again until late August at the earliest.
I remember a time when watching "Mallrats" was just watching a fun movie, & wasn't in any way like your real life. I think i like it better this way, however.
Must relabel the "Wonder Years" DVDs somehow. Keep on forgetting which one i feel like watching, & have ended up putting on the on with...you know, him, by accident. It's all Canada's fault.
"Knocked Up" isn't a bad flick. Have to wait for the DVD.
It's so fucking hot. Last year around this time, i was in Eureka with my brother, prepping to move to Sac upon my return to Ukiah. Year before i was hot, miserable, being stalked by Mormons & being pursued by a girl who was a little nutbar (as if there was any other kind of girl in my romantic life). This year seems to be some amalgam of the last two, what with the moving & the Mormons & the heat. The Mormons followed me to 7-11 tonight, by the way. It was about eight-thirty, & there they were. I really don't know how to stop this. Nothing i say, no matter how inappropriate, seems to work.
Really don't care for the Green Day version of "Working Class Hero." Takes all the emotion & cynicism out of the song. Like Green Day, but this just wasn't the right Lennon song for them. Now "Instant Karma" or "Oh Yoko" would work.
Man, I need to watch "Rushmore" again. Love that movie, as well as the soundtrack.
I'm done. It's too hot to write anything meaningful.

As are the Royal Tennenbaums... although Bottle Rocket was much more subtle with it's humor.... Have you seen it yet?
The mormons seem to feed on abuse, just makes them think their jobs are even more important!
Are the same Mormons following you? Or just no matter how offensive/rude you are, they won't leave you alone. They must go through some extensive training to deal with rejection.
