Insomnia is ridiculously overrated.
I, in boredom, am checking out online personals. What strange world that is. Seems so...awkward. Especially the ones with quizzes & things like that, with the questions that never have the answer you want (last one was "Are you tolerant of other people's political beliefs? Yes or No"). Shame you can't just look up people by personality. Like, if they asked you to describe yourself in a word, i'd be all about the one girl who said "Czechoslovakia." But quizzes...ugh. I'll admit, they kill time well, but still, when i'm feeling like i would want to meet a girl the last thing (usually) on my mind is "Do you mock religion? Yes, No, or I Don't Know." I actually asked a good friend of mine i've known for several years if she thought i mocked religion. She laughed & laughed & laughed.
I mentioned this to Lobster_Mobster yesterday, & mentioned it in the MySpace blog i wrote out of boredom when SG didn't want to load on my computer, but why don't people seem to read anymore? Looking at several of these girls, you'd think they'd never heard the word "book" without the word "check" right in front of it. That really sucks. I mean, i guess it explains why some of them TyPe LiKe ThIs & misspell words like "later" or "love" on a regular basis.
I know you all likely don't care about TDS's adventures in online dating & personal amusement, but it's so fucking weird. It's a person doing their best to sell themself, however trying to come off (most of the time) as undesperate as possible. I'm currently looking at the bastion of internet relations known as craigslist at the moment, because it seemed like it would be the least boring to me this evening/morning. Sociologically, i love this. Some act as if they have no other option, some act as if they have other options but choose this, some make excuses ("My friend told me i should, so...), & some act as if they're going to give you some warped job interview. It's amazing. As for what i'm looking for...i just don't want to be alone any more than i have to. That's not some shitty innuendo, either.
So, as far as the Joe Herr thing is concerned, i think this might be the first time (well, i guess second if you wanna be technical) i've got an incredible hatred for someone i've never met. If i get one more call from Tennessee, i'm going to freak out on someone. I think i've been just obnoxious enough to keep the real people from calling; the telemarketers are being telemarketers, however, & apparently the No Call List hasn't gotten passed the Mississippi yet. This fucker gets more calls than i do at my own number.
I think i love the character of Batman/Bruce Wayne. There's far more there than i ever could appriciate as a kid; it's truly an adult character. He was, pretty much, insane, & do a degree one could make an argument of suicidal. For every difference he made, every difference made him tenfold. There's so much there that you just don't pick up as a kid.
"The Ex" isn't a bad movie. I quite enjoyed it, although i really don't think i should be proud of that. I've got a growing hatred for Zach Braff, i think. Jason Bateman fucking rules in anything he does. Amanda Peet doesn't suck. Amy Poelher is clothed & talking, so i kinda ignored her. Charles Grodin is Charles Grodin. But not a bad flick. Kinda long, though.
So how's everyone doing? Good?

Why do the best shows get cancelled? Arrested Development, Freaks & Geeks? (I'm still smarting over Freaks and Geeks)
