Had every intention of writing this yesterday, however i was detained both by illness & a hangover. From the MINUTE i got back to my apartment from the SGSAC Halloween party, i felt sicker than i have my entire life. Seriously, i went straight to the futon & didn't get up until a few hours later, because the act of walking was making me want to puke when i wasn't coughing my head off or bitching silently about how much my throat hurt. I was pretty much unable to talk from about four yesterday until about five today. And i was totally fine at the party, aside from the seasonal allergy-related coughing everyone gets. If anyone gets sick i apologize now, & if anyone got me sick i'll exact revenge of some kind later. Not like i was doing much outside the party.
The party was about what i was expecting, although honestly i figured there'd be more people. Doesn't make much difference, but it was cool. Everyone i met was beyond nice, & to be quite honest, the fact there was both booze & "Hell Comes to Frog Town" is an automatic thumbs up anyway. Roddy Piper seems to find the weirdest times to creep into my life. Anyway, i think i came off well. I THINK, anyway. It will take me awhile to get used to the process of these things, which is more bullshit from me than fact, i think, but it stands. But i wasn't maced, so i'm calling that points. And it was surreal meeting the LC people, because i've met pretty much no one who even knows the place exists. So congrats to omeganightmare, Lobster Mobster, & Toez for being the only people from that area to remotely make me miss it. That takes work. Kudos. You guys are welcome at my place any time, but my current neighbors might just kill me so it'd have to be a little subdued.
And for the record, the Hilton is the finest hotel chain in the free world. Patient people, them Hilton folk. I don't think the surface was scratched as far as testing that patience, though. But then i don't remember all that much outside of picking the fucking WORST place in that room to sleep, killing my back in the process. And booze even though i didn't drink any in the hotel (Mickey's is a name from my past i really don't want to revisit, even if history has shown it makes me remember every word to every Van Morrison song ever recorded). Also vaguely recall a pillow being defiled more times than Ned Beatty. Beyond that, it all begins with that unfortunate opening of the curtain. Fucking light, being all bright & obnoxious. Like a girlscout without the advantage of cookies. Or that bitch from "Trading Spaces." Either way, streams of sun into formerly drunk eyes is just not cool. Reminds me of that Disney cartoon where Donald Duck (my personal hero) is fighting with that disobediant & fucking rude pelican in the lighthouse. But i digress. Regardless, that was a fun adventure, & i hope it happens again, just because the TV was in one piece & no one drove anything into the pool. Right?
All in all, though, it was great meeting everyone, & hope i can meet the ones who either i missed or who didn't show. Everyone i met i consider a friend. And i can't thank Kage & Moirae enough for hosting the thing, providing violently orange cupcakes, & just being really cool when i talked to them.
It just occured to me the best birthday i've had was getting drunk with strangers, then getting sick the next day. Yikes.
Anyway i know i forgot a bunch of people i shouldn't have forgot (i need to give Brit & K-Fed a shout out before i completely forget ), so please don't hate me too much. Honestly the real names to screen names thing throws me off much more than anticipated. So yeah, i hope i get asked back if only to properly thank everyone else.
I had more to say, but i'm getting a headache & this is already tedious enough. So there you go.

I too have a gnarly headcold. I feel your pain. Mine didn't hit me till Sunday, right as we started wine-tasted. I only hope Moirae has a stong enough immune system to not catch it from me. I'm glad you enjoyed the cupcakes, violently orange though they may have been.
