So in the Film Genre class, we watched some old silent shorts. I love silent movies, i think. Saw "The General" a couple years ago in my other film class, & thought it was wonderful, so i've been slowly getting more into the genre (i think "Modern Times" & "Nosferatu" are in a tie for first, at the moment). I just wish the class had been more receptive. You know those types: if it isn't made within the last twenty years, & in color, it just isn't good. Fuck those people. The point of life in damn near every facet is to explore new things. Why do you think there's so much shit going on? Anyway, i really enjoy this class, which is essentially the history of comedy. It's the shit, & i don't see how anyone can hate a class where you get credit for watching "Ferris Bueller" & have a tentative fieldtrip planned to go see "Little Miss Sunshine." I am fucking DOWN for that.
Best part of the class, though, is this one girl. Most of my stories begin with a variation on "So there's this girl," i'm told. Anyway, she seems smart. I mean, she gets intelligent jokes, which is awesome, & she comes off very well spoken & intelligent. Built too, boy. Anyway, as she's also in my Rock N Roll History class, i have a decent idea of how her mind works. So yeah, working on a CD. It's what i do. I think she's acclectic. Her knowlede of music certainly is. So, until i do more prying into that end of it, i'll just list off the ones off the top of my head i think she'd like. Any subliminal issues are purely intentional.
1.) "London Calling"-The Clash
2.) "Mushaboom"-Feist
3.) "Be My Yoko Ono"-Barenaked Ladies
4.) "Let's Spend the Night Together"-Rolling Stones
5.) "Oh Darlin'"-The Beatles
6.) "Express Yourself"-NWA
7.) "The Bucket"-Kings of Leon
8.) "Senses Working Overtime"-XTC
9.) "Sweet Jane"-Velvet Underground
10.) "Huka Blues"-Harry Slash
11.) "I Wanna Be Your Lover"-Prince
12.) "I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself"-White Stripes
13.) "Untouchable Face"-Ani DiFranco
14.) "Peaches En Regalia"-Frank Zappa
15.) "Fool in the Rain"-Led Zeppelin
16.) "Getting in Tune"-The Who
17.) "Young Liars"-TV on the Radio
18.) "Candy"-Iggy Pop
Some will most certainly be omitted for the final product, but i don't think it's too bad for covering bases & starting discussion. But i'm ALL for people helping out on what makes a good mix/compilation, because i figure the people who post here are not unfamiliar with music being the way to ones heart or other fun parts. At this point, it's all good.
I think i might stop here. Honestly i'm getting crazy tired, on top of "Nip/Tuck" being on, & if i'm feeling bored i supposed i could venture over to ECW. It's more of a CM Punk thing than anything. Anyway, write if you want, & add me if you feel like it. I'm horrible about that, & for that i apologize.
Later.

Yeah.. welcome to SGSac! Come take a look around and get a feel for the group, then jump on in.
We've got a fairly big get together saturday night at the SG Burlesque show, then an after party in midtown Sac. Feel free to come out and meet people if you can hustle up a ride of sorts.
