So, crazy ups and downs, moneywise. The aid office said, even though their letter was totally different, that I was all squared away, finance-wise.
Then I overdrew my banking account on groceries at SUPER WALMART (of all places - but I needed film! And we needed seasoning, and matches, and vitamin water!) for camping, because I didn't realize the check to my mechanic hadn't gone through.
I had enough in savings to cover it, but then I was crazy worried about not being able to afford the fees and things for books and my parking permit at Orientation, but then my aunt told me she's giving me $150 in late graduation money when I get there, and my grandparents gave me money for books.
So, my money issues are pretty much okay. I mean, there's literally a quarter of a tank of gas in my car, but I'm just trying to get people to drive me everywhere, and so far I got Will to agree to pick me up tomorrow, Jake to take me to lunch on Tuesday and Hana to go to dinner Tuesday night. So, I may be able to mooch all week. Sweet.
I am in complete disbelief that I'm moving.
Jonathan leaving made it sink in, I think. His roommate never showed, so he lives alone, for now at least, which is weird to think about.
Anyway, we're all grown-ups? Or something.

something i just read this morning kind of made me angry, and i'm sure it's something you'll understand. i was on the burning man website (because i'm leaving this week for it) and reading some girls account of the drive there from new york. she said "don't eat fast food on the way because it destroys the rainforests" which is obviously true and dandy. but then she said on the way they stopped at her grandmother's to pick up 20 pounds of meat which they ate there. i was like !!!?!?!?!
she mentioned eating meat a few times. it's everyone's personal choice to eat meat or not, i shouldn't be one to judge. but it erks me when people pretend to care about environmental concerns and then boast about consuming 20 pounds of meat. sigh.
sorry for the rant.
i feel you on school and financial issues. it can be frustrating, but i'm glad it's working out for you! <3
