I've been using random Hello Kitty notebooks as planners for years. I write down work schedules, shopping lists, songs to download, books and movies. I happened across a site today (DIY Planner.) And I realized that I could have had a non-boring planner tailored to me all along. I have spent most of my day off designing pages and figuring out what all those scribbles in my notebooks were and how they could be translated into pages. Why, oh why, didn't I think of this myself?
It also looks like I'm moving - TWICE.
Once down to San Diego mid-August and then to an as-yet-undetermined location in November or December. Lemme tell ya, things happen fast when you're Tawnya!
My very best good friend wants to leave SD (finally!) when his tour is up in November, and he doesn't want to go alone. Plus, he gives me the locales and I do all the research for him. Thus far the big aim is for... I can't believe I'm saying this... Hawaii. I know, sun, the ocean and crazy big spiders. I'll be able to get over my fear of the ocean and crazy big spiders and I might even get enough sun to convince people I'm Portuguese without telling them my last name and a couple jokes.
I'm a sucker for cultures, man. He can't go over-seas (long story) so this is as close as we can get to a foreign land. And who doesn't love a language with a thirteen letter alphabet? Major bonus - it's half way (ish) to Japan! My family would come visit me (free lodging in Hawaii, yo), so my vacations can be spent on the surrounding islands and varying degrees of Asia. Tokyo!
Secondary options are all east coast since neither of us have ever been. No more Cali, yo!
