I had such a perfect day today. I got up and made a delicious breakfast of cheesy scrambled eggs. I dropped the top on the convertible and drove down to Laguna Beach for the day with a friend of mine who has lived here for a year, but never seen LB. We played a 30-song playlist I had created weeks ago on my iPod and it was such an incredible mix it brought tears to my eyes a couple of times.
so, sun is shining, driving 90 miles an hour listening to fantastic, lyrical music with thumping beats, talking to my friend and pulling into the Laguna Canyon for that first peek of the white sandy beach. Laguna is empty because it's winter. I know so many people there. I ran into 14 people I knew today just walking down the street. I walked in the sand on the beach and the ocean licked ice cold at my toes,
I went to a fundraiser for a group I strongly support and came back up the coast to walk in the Venice Canals, Saw sunset on Venice Pier and it was a fiery hot pink disk dropping into a fluorescent pastel sea. Pink and blue streaks reflected in the sand lent a surreal glow to the last rays on light. Dinner at Anastasia's in Santa Monica, and back home to enjoy a nice bath and some mind-numbing television.
Life is good. LA is beautiful. I am so fortunate to be right here. Right now.
