Feeling blah
This weekend I cleaned out my apartment. Granted, it's never been overfull, but I wanted to get all the worn n torn things out of my cupboards and ended up leaving three bags full of clothing and another two of books out on the pavement. Add to that, three bags of rubbish and now I feel a lot lighter.
Half the stuff in here belongs to the people I'm renting from, the bed, the fridge, the sideboard in the lounge. All I own is a large couch, office chair n desk, a futon rocking chair, an iron bookshelf and my computers. Its home for now.
I really hit the ground running when I first arrived here but now everythign has slowed down. My social circle is really small, not knowing the language, and I'm not working so I am itching to do SOMETHING that will make me money and put my life back on track.
In other news, I may be visiting South Africa, 22 Sept - 1 Oct. I can get a special deal $573 inclusive, return. I don't have a job to pay for it but with my mom getting altzheimer's this may be the last time she and I will be able to meet, so... it seems as if it's now or never.
I'll also bring more of my stuff from Jo'burg over as well. A final break.
I went for dinner at friends the other night. The husband's just got fired for the 2nd time this year so he's not happy.
Otherwise life is normal. I'm looking for work, been to the occasional interview. I have been offered two jobs - both salaries under 5000 nis, working phones 3pm - 3am / 3pm - midnight.
I had an interview in petach tikva. They say they will get back to me by the end of the month. I applied for 5 jobs yesterday. Hopefully something will come of it.
